Customer Journey's US Time Zones

Hi Gurus,

I have a situation where i want to create a campaign for all USA states.

I want to target a customer or prospect.

If i send out a campaign, say for example - From New York,  will the time to converted automatically to the customer time zone. So, i want it to be the same time for any emails, phone call or letter that will be created or sent out.

Any ideas. Can it be automated? Or does D365 Marketing converts the time automatically to the customer time zone?  I hope it makes sense.

Please share with screenshots any solution.

Thanks,

M

It doesn't automatically update for the recipients' time zone. Everybody gets the email at the same time.

If someone has a solution for this without having to create separate journeys for each time zone, I would be forever thankful.

Hi, I am in the same boat as Jessica. I have been using Outbound, which DOES NOT allow for TimeZone sending. We are beginning our transistion over to Real-time, I have not been able to confirm that Real-time sends emails based on the recipients TimeZone as Rudy Zhang suggests below, rather the sends follow the TimeZone I set for the journey.

Has anyone else been able to confirm and if so, please provide further documentation?

    Hi Maze Systems,

Were you able to find this response to be true? That the times automatically adjust based on the customers' time zone? I'm just using Real Time marketing for the first time, but with my outbound marketing, that didn't seem to be the case.

Do I need to assign a time zone to the contacts as they are added in our system, perhaps? If so - how?

I am creating a journey for all US contacts. I am in Eastern Time zone, so I want to be sure my California contacts aren't getting emails at 4:30 am instead of 7:30. Previously I had to create a separate journey for each time zone. I'm hoping those days are gone and this has been resolved.

    Hi,

In Dynamics 365 Marketing, if there are users in different time zones in a segment, the system automatically handles the time zone conversion. This means that if you send an email, phone call, or letter from New York, the time will automatically be converted to the customer's time zone. This ensures that all time zones receive communications at the same time.

Here are some tests our team has conducted to make it easier for you to understand.
    Step1, prepare two users SA(UTC+8), and Tester001(UTC+0).
Step2, create a RTM Journey, select the time zone and time of sending.

Step3, check the time when the Tester user receives the email.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Rudy Zhang
