Hi Team,

We have a custom field named /custom date/ in our email activity table and we want to replace the /modified on/ field with this /custom date/ in our email timeline. The goal is to show the /custom date/ field instead of /modified on/ in your timeline view.

If you have any questions or queries please let us know.

Thank you

    Hi Inkey Solutions,
Currently, the custom field does not appear in the 'Sort activities by' options. This sorting is used not only emails but also for other activities.

I think you should edit the Email Card form as Adrian Begovich mentioned earlier.

Let’s simplify the steps to replace the “Modified On” field with your custom date field in the email timeline within Dynamics CRM:

    1. Create a Custom Card:
      • Imagine you’re making a special card for your email activity.
      • Create a card for each activity type (like email, case, lead, etc.).
      • Include the “Created On” date at the top of your card.
    2. Customize the Timeline:
      • Imagine your card has a magical timeline.
      • Open the form you want to change (e.g., email form).
      • Double-click the timeline.
      • Go to the “Activities” tab.
      • Configure which fields appear on the timeline.
    3. Swap “Modified On” with Your Custom Date:
      • Imagine you’re replacing one magical crystal ball with another.
      • Find your custom date field (the one you want to show instead of “Modified On”).
      • Set up the timeline to display your custom date.
      • Now, when you view your email timeline, it’ll sparkle with your custom date!
