Financial Reports fails to generate

ReportReport
Posted on by 174
Hello,
I have a problem with every raport stored in Financial Raports. I didn't used them for years so just noticed but... I can generate the reports only if I set the date till 31.12.2022.
Any date after that gives me the following error.

An error occurred while processing the request. (BadRequest)
<"Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.", "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request."> {A920C253-F323-4B4A-9EEF-AC39844A331C}

The "400 Bad Request" error could be due to invalid request formatting, and the described behavior suggests it doesn't work with the new data. I suspect there might be an issue with the Data Mart integration status.

If this is a non-production(TEST, DEV) system, could you please try resetting your Data Mart, and thereafter running any reports.

Whereas If it's a production system, please contact Microsoft by raising a support ticket before taking any action.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Open Dynamics.
    2. Navigate to General Ledger Module > Inquiries and Reports > Financial Reporting.
    3. Click on Edit. In the dialog that appears, select Open, and allow the executable to run by clicking Yes.
    4. Wait a few seconds and select your account — this will open Management Reporter (MR).
    5. Click on Tools, then choose Reset Data Mart.
    6. Check the box for Reset Data Mart.
    7. Select a reason (choose Other).
    8. Click OK.
Note: Depending on the volume of data, the MR Data Mart reset may take anywhere from a few minutes to few an hour to complete. You do not have to sit in front oof computer for it to finish. It is batched process, that runs on it's own, even though you close the MR.

How would you know when it is complete? Under Integration status every entity/row would show status as RanToCompletion

I think I'm missing something. I clicked edit on any report and it only let's me download the ReportDesigner.Application file but I can run it.

Sorry miss typed. I could not run it. Looks like it only works on Edge.
So... When I opened it don't show our report only default ones.
Opening any report pops out 'Default Base Period' to be changed from S-1 to CUR.
It looks like its can take a while to reset it.

Ok, so after restarting Data Mart default reports work but I lost our report in this process...
Is there any way to get them? Get their designs from somewhere? I still have 'access' on production and dev to them.

You do not lose the reports by data mart reset. However if you have for any reason, You can take those from another server and import those on this server.

Ok the reset fixet the problem on production.

I think I had the designs only on prod and since other machines had replicated database they might be shown and even worked until I did the reset of data mart.

MR has its own databases (2 in total). When you restore the Dynamics 365 DB (AxDB) from Server A to Server B, it does not move the MR databases from Server A to Server B.
One database of MR is for data, which we call the DataMart. The second database contains the schema of reports and other application-related configurations.
If you had custom reports on your production server for MR, those would not be available in the non-production system just by copying the AxDB (Dynamics database).
