We are trying to connect our Dynamics 365 on prem version with exchange online.

The following steps are complete

1. IFD is done

2. Server side sync was completed successfully and tenant id being generated sucessfully.

But when i am trying to create an email profile, i get the error which says   "The certificate used for S2S authentication is not installed"

Can you please let me know what i am missing?

When i try to do "Test Connection" it fails as well. Below is the error trace i get

Aquiring Token from ACS has failed. Please check if your tenantId is specified correctly in your Email Server Profile, and make sure your Exchange and CRM are under the same tenant

I have the same question (0)

Looks like you missed a step along the way in your configuration...

There is an excellent guide here:

    us.hitachi-solutions.com/.../setup-dynamics-365-server-side-synchronization-premise-exchange-online

    versus the official guide:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../mt703269.aspx

    Please review your steps.

    Andreas,

I used the exact same link you provided to perform all the steps. All the steps were success till the step where it tells me to create an email profile. On that window i get an error as attached. Also when i try to test the connection all 3 points fail as attached.

Hi Sudeep and whomever comes across this issue seeking hope.

I have been bashing my head against the wall encountering the same symptoms and the documentation led me around the bend.

In my case the solution happened to be a quite simple one, found the answer here:

The kicker in our case required the Certificate being used in IFD to be installed on the servers running the Async service, effectively any servers running Backend Roles.

Import the certificate, Restart the Async services (Production and Maintenance), Test Connection success immediately.

If that helps anyone i'm glad, it was a frustrating one.

    Good hunting,

    Jayden.
