Is there a tool for automatic monitoring of processes, plugins, workflows, etc.?

Hello everybody,

is there a good monitoring tool (ideally web based) for Microsoft Dynamics 365?

Ideally the monitoring tool would monitor the Active Status of (selected):

- Workflows,
- SDK Messages
- Business Rules
- Duplicate Detection Rules
- Maybe other components.

and give an information in some sort of nightly / hourly run if some of the necessary components don't have a certain status.

Optionally could someone point me to an API that would allow to check the statuses of these components, so I can write my own tools for that?

Sadly searching for both - existing tools and the API - brought me no results.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Hello Ravi,

    I will probably go with the C# API provided by XrmToolkit and try to work things out myself.

    system jobs will sadly not tell me that an SDK step that needs to be enabled has been disabled.

    You should try Organization Insights, this will give you what you are looking for. Good place to start.

    Hi,

    As suggested above, there is no tool available so you need to build your own using CRM SDK.

    Do you need to check if the actual component is active or the execution of the component is active. For e.g. you can haave a workflow which can then run and creates system job for its execution. Do you need to monitor the system job or the workflow itself.

    If its the execution then you can query AsynOperationBase and check for the status-docs.microsoft.com/.../asynchronous-operation-states

    If you need to check the status of individual component then you need to retrieve the specific component (process, sdkmessagestep etc) and check for the status.

    There is no tool to check Synchronous plugin status. Apart from this, You can achieve all by System jobs.

    Hi,

    Did you checked system jobs?

    It is under Settings -->System Job which will give you details of which workflow, plugins, duplicate detection rules executed or pending etc.
