Philippines Access is somewhat slow

Posted on by

Hello, we are testing the speed from our Philippines access to the CRM5 tenant of Dynamics 365 CE.

We setup with default settings and were given the CRM5 Tenant. The Tenant is a Demo license.

we use this type of technique to test: crm5.dynamics.com/tools/diagnostics/diag.aspx

The ping is ok but the bandwidth is only about 500kbps. We heard that CRM5 is in Singapore, but Japan is closer than Singapore.

What are the steps to try using a CRM7 instance vs the CRM5 with Dynamics 365 CE?

Also, It feels like it would be helpful if there was an easier way to check this, its too many steps and restrictions at this time.

    good stuff, thanks

Yes, of course we ran multiple speed tests already to ensure this is not the case. Leo's answer is the correct answer. We will use a .jp email address to make a demo account.

    Hi

As suggested by LeoAlt, you can create a trial for CRM7 (Japan).  But you might also want to check your internet and local network load. I came across few scenarios where the bandwidth issue is not to do with the CRM Data Center location, it was to do with the local network and the ISP.

    Hi partner,

As I know, crm5 is APAC area and crm7 is Japan area.

If you want to change the area, You can apply for a new free environment with Japan area.

Here are two ways to do this.

1.Apply a new trial instance with your work email. The area of instance is determined by your work email area.

2.Sign up a new account and select your area to get a free sandbox instance.

    Here is the trials web.

Also here is the article provided by Microsoft about performance.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

(quick note, when we test CRM5 from Singapore office, we get 6.5 MBPS even though the internet connection is 66% less bandwith than the fiber optic connection we have in Philippines)
