Automating 'Reconfigure Change Tracking'

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

If I understand correctly the 'reconfigure change tracking' option in Management Reporter enables change tracking for all companies at database level. I need to do this each time I restore AX production databases to one of my pre-prod environments.

I've been looking round to see if there are any PowerShell or SQL scripts which will do this, so I can automate the process. However, I'm unable to find anything so far.

Does anyone have a script or more information i could use to try and achieve this?

thanks,

Tim

I don't know what Management Report exactly does, nevertheless enabling change tracking through SQL is trivial: ALTER TABLE Xyz ENABLE CHANGE_TRACKING.

Consult the documentation (Enable and Disable Change Tracking (SQL Server)) for details, if needed.

Hi Martin. I'm aware of the commands for enabling the change tracking, but wondering if anyone is aware of the specific actions carried out by the option in management reporter.

It might just be I need to use sql profiler to identify what the specifc tables and other items that are being used are. Wanted to see if anyone had done this already though.
