Hi All
I know it's not ideal but I am considering setting up a "Test" company in the Prod environment to test a new expense work flow i have constructed.
I agree this is not ideal and should be rather done in a test environment, however i would like to know what adverse effects (if any) this could have on Prod
thanks,
Hi, Few issues would be Increase in load on Production environment, testing your solution in isolation without actual prod data, Compliance & auditing, security issues in case you provided users to roles like System Admin. Production environment should have proper change management and as you mentioned adding test company is not recommended. I'm sure others can add more reasons/affects.
Many thanks for your comments Mohit
Why don't you want to do this in a test environment? You'll never be able to remove the test company.
Thanks Frank, that's a good point
Hi Ajmal,
I concur with Frank. You should never perform tests in a production environment. With your subscription you have at least a production and an acceptance environment. The UAT instance can be used for testing and validation purposes. When required you can also deploy additional development environments or buy additional Tier-2 environments in your subscription.
