Does Dynamics 365 guides include support for recording and playing back MR videos (of hand motions) that are anchored in space ?

We have a very specific use case that involves recording the hand motions of an expert demonstration of a procedure (say tying a knot) in MR and playing it back in MR at the same spatial location. Is this possible using the Hololens 2 and Dynamics 365 ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Guides doesn't provide a native way to record a video from within the app.

However you can use HoloLens capture features (home menu, record a video icon at the bottom, or press Volume Up+Down for 3 seconds or ask Cortana)

    docs.microsoft.com/.../holographic-photos-and-videos

You can also use a GoPro or a mobile phone (potentially with a tripod) to do this capture.

Then, this video can be copied to any computer.

I guess you will have to do a little video editing to crop, zoom in, freeze, highlight the crucial part.

You will then be able to upload this video into the Guide at a specific step (therefore location).

Thanks for your reply, is the video playback inside a virtual frame or is it overlaid with the real world. What I need is the ability to record a user's hand and play it back as an animated hologram at a defined point in space. I don't own a hololens yet, but would like to buy one if it has this ability.

The video will appear in a flying window when the user reach a specific step in the guide sequence.

It is up to the user to place the window for its own comfort, so you (as a guide creator) can't place it as an hologram.

Additionally you can add proper hologram like an arrow, a pointing hand, a circle, a wire... to highlight the real location where the user has to proceed.

Here is a demo of what can be done:
