Map parent account for lead with account information

Hi everybody,

I would like to map the field "Parent Account for lead" (also named Existing Account) into the lead entity with Account information.

The OOB field map just the company name. Is there a way to map others fields?

Why is there no mapping in the relantionship N:1 parent account for lead:lead, but there is in the parent contact for lead?

Thank you in advance

Federica

    Hi Federica,

    Yes, it is by design.

Could you tell us what would you want to achieve with the map? We can achieve the same effect in other ways.

If you want to pre-populate fields on the quick create form, then we can do it through Javascript.

Please note that mapping only works when creating a record from the sub-grid instead of the lookup field

    Hi Lu,

What do you mean when you say it only works with sub grids?

I try to explain my requirement.
when I have to create a lead from an existing account, I would like all the information of that account (already existing in CRM), like address or other more specific information, to go to autopopulate it, going to search what is the existing account.
The "Parent account for lead" mapping only works for the company name and not for all the other fields. On the other hand, unlike the "parent contact for lead" field where you can change the mapping, in the "Parent account for lead" this is not allowed.
I also tried creating another look-up field between lead and account and mapped all the fields I'm interested in, but it doesn't work.

Do you have any ways to recommend?
    Thanks

    Hi,

This is a system relationship and mapping cannot be modified.

Secondly, relationship mapping works when the record is created from parent record's form. Like when you create a Lead from Account form (Related -> Leads -> New).

In you scenario, you can write a JS Script which fires on change of the Existing Account lookup.

Use xrm.WebApi.retrieveRecord to get the data based on Account id and fill the required fields:

    Hi Federica,

I created a new 1:N relationship between Account and Lead, add the mapping, then the mapping also worked for the "Parent account for lead".

    Here is my test.

I create a new relationship. Then add a mapping.

Insert a sub-grid of Leads (Parent account for lead) on the Account form.

New Lead on the sub-grid, then the mapped field will contain data.
