No, you can't truly delete users once they've been created and assigned in the system. What you can do is

    • Disable the user in Microsoft 365/Azure Active Directory (AAD).
    • Remove security roles within Dynamics 365 to restrict access.
    • Optionally, deactivate associated records like Bookable Resources

    Hi
Depending on the NAV version, it is not recommended to do so, but it is possible to do so as follows:

    Hi LS-29041148,

Yes, it is possible to delete users in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, but there are a few important considerations depending on your version and setup.

Here's how you can approach it:

    1. Using the User Page

    • Go to the Users page in NAV.
    • Select the user you want to delete.
    • Use the Delete action from the ribbon.

⚠️ Note: You can only delete users who are not currently logged in and who do not have any dependencies (e.g., entries in the change log, posted documents, etc.).

    2. Check for Dependencies

If the user has historical data (e.g., posted sales orders, approvals), NAV may prevent deletion to preserve data integrity. In such cases, consider:

    • Disabling the user instead of deleting.
    • Removing their permissions and license assignment.

    3. NAV Version Considerations

In newer versions (especially NAV 2018 and later), user management is often integrated with Azure Active Directory or Windows authentication, so deletion may also involve removing the user from the associated directory or license pool.

Let me know your NAV version if you'd like more specific steps.

If this answer was helpful, please consider marking it as accepted.
    Best regards,
    Daniele
