Hello,

We have cloud hosted environment (Tier1) - Dev

Non cloud hosted environment (Tier2) - Sandbox (UAT)

So, can we deploy the package manually (LCS) or automated through Release pipeline to Sandbox?

I mean both approach are possible.

    Hello,

    Yes, both approaches are possible:
    • Manual via LCS: You upload the package to the Asset Library and trigger the update on the Sandbox.
    • Automated via Azure DevOps pipeline: Integration with the LCS API to upload and deploy automatically.

    Thanks Aymen,

Suppose the Package has been deployed to Sandbox (UAT).

For the further Deployment on PROD, how will I do this. Where I will get the option " Release candidate"?

    thanks!

Assuming as you are using CHE's you are using LCS, the release candidate is marked in LCS by viewing the environment history of your UAT environment.

This is then available to select when configuring your environment downtime in Production for the release. Note self-service production release will also update your D365 service update versions, so that the result will be your Production environment has identical package and service update versions as the UAT environment you tested on.

    Thanks
    Anthony

Once the package has been successfully deployed to Sandbox (UAT), you can prepare it for PROD, mark as release candidate from your Environment UAT change histrory

In D365, you will find the Release Candidate option in the Lifecycle Services (LCS) project under Environment > Maintain >Updates Environment/ Deploy package. From there, you can select the package deployed in UAT.

    Best regards,
