Sending e-Mails from Partner Portal

Greetings!

We are using D365 CRM online and have Partner Portal configured for our external users. These users reside in CRM as contacts.

We need to provide a feature for our external users to send emails from Partner Portal and these details should appear in Opportunity's timeline.

  • We have configured a mail box in CRM say no-reply@abc.com and used that to send the emails (this would be the from email address)
  • The mail can be sent to one or more persons in To, CC
  • The email can attach one or more attachments.

In the above method, the recipients would see the mail sent from no-reply@abc.com instead of the actual sender (partner portal user) who sent this email.

Is there a way to set the from address to the partner portal user so that the recipients would clearly know who had sent this email?

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Shyam

    Hi Shyam,

    I can't understand you well.

Whether you want to set the from address to the no-reply address or the email address of the partner portal user?

Maybe you could refer to the following post.

    Hi Nya,

Thanks for responding, in short I want to set the from address to the email address of the partner portal. I went through the URL, it says that this feature was available in CRM 4.0 and was removed from later versions.

Let me add more details about the requirement,

    • I can have a buyer or seller log on to partner portal and send an email (planning to have this feature in a separate tab in Opportunity).
    • The mails sent from Partner Portal will obviously have to be a mailbox configured in CRM, this means when a buyer "shyam@crm.com" sends a mail to recipient@gmail.com, recipient will not know who had sent him this email and also the recipient cannot reply back to the buyer "shyam@crm.com".
    • I am trying to see if all or any of below could be addressed
      • Recipient by looking at his inbox (without opening my email) should know that this mail was sent by shyam or shyam@crm.com
      • Recipient should be able to reply back to shyam@crm.com.
      • If these emails can be shown in the timeline of Opportunity.

    Thanks,

    Shyam
