Approver can modify a purchase requisition during an approval step without any change request

Hi,

I'm facing something in my point of view weird and I need your knowledges :). I'm on Dynamics 365 FO (version 8.1 I think)

I have a workflow on Purchase requisition.

  1. Review the PR if the field Reason is not field -> my case get an auto complete because it's filled.
  2. Approval requested to the "department owner" setup on the financial dimension department
  3. Other approvals

The step 1 auto complete and the approval guy get the approval request. Here he can click on "Modify" and then modify the PR before approval and approve.

I was thinking during an approval nobody can change data except with a "change request" that I can disallow in my workflow setup.

Does it look a regular case to you ?

    I just ran into this myself and am wondering the same thing. Has anyone dealt this this before?

    I have a worker who needs to be able to create purchase requisitions (PR). They also need to approve PRs but when they are approving are not allowed to make modifications to them.

    Please help :) thanks!

    Do you have any clue how I can handle :

    - The approver can be a preparer, and for this reason should be able to create a PR and send it in a workflow.

    - An approver shouldn't be able to modify a PR during approval, he should only be able to run a "change request"

    I have tested in previous version, the approver can modify PR during the approval process.

    What do you mean by permission ? Duties and privileges ? Do we have any functional control ?

    In previous version it seems knewn it was impossible to modifty a PR during the approval process, if you are the approver too :(.

    If the approver has permission to modify PR, then he can do that, it seems to be default setup.

    What do you mean by "take for approval" ?

    My goal is what you describe, when somebody should approve (work item approval assign to him), he shoudn't be able to modify.

    An approver cannot make modification to PR

    If using take for approval then there is a task with edit which can allow
