I have created a custom Entity and selected the Ownership as "User or Team" and this field become read-only after saving this new Entity. But now I need change Ownership to "Orginazation" according to the requirement. How can I do that to change the Read-only field value with simple way? Thanks

You can not change ownership by supported way. You have to create a new entity.

By unsupported way, You have to export entity customization and update XML. Please go through below link:

Delete and re-create the entity - there is no other supported way

    Hi,

You will have to recreate the entity. You cannot change the ownership once created. You can use "CloneFieldDefinitions" from XRM Toolbox to cpy the field from you existing entity to new entity.

    www.xrmtoolbox.com/.../MsDyn.Contrib.CloneFieldDefinitions

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Datadvancer,

There is no way to change the ownership of an entity once it has been created, so you will have to delete and recreate the entity. Keep in mind that you can get a "User or Team" owned entity to behave similarly to an "Organization" owned entity by allocating every user a security role with Organization level access to the custom entity.

Hi Dynamics365 Rocker - we are getting ready to try this with a custom entity that has a large number of relationships. Are the relationships maintained when following these instructions? Also wanted to ask if you came across any other ways of changing ownership. Thanks!
