Planning worksheet doesnt deduct inventory balance for assembly order parent items

Hi
We have a demand forecast for the parent item. The include inventory is enabled on Item card. The planning worksheet doesnt not deduct existing inventory.
Example
Example:
Assembly parent item ..-demand forecast is 1000 for a month
Existing inventory : 200
The planning worksheet should plan for the balance only i.e 800

We have tried different scenarios including enabling " include on the item card and sku" . The system doesnt deduct the existing inventory and simply plans for the full quantity of the demand forecast i.e 1000

Any suggestions

Kind Regards
I have the same question (0)

Hello, As per my understanding, When using the Planning Worksheet in Business Central, it is essential to populate the "Use Forecast" field while running Calculate Regenerative Plan. The system includes the specified demand forecast during planning. Combined with enabling "Include Inventory" on the Item or SKU card, the system will then calculate the net requirement by deducting existing inventory from the forecasted demand, generating accurate planning lines accordingly.

Hope you have consider this field before generating planning lines, if you have already considered it and still system is not calculating it correctly then kindly check your Planning Parameters.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Hi

We are using the Use Forecast option. BC does not deducting assembly orders. We have locations with SKU's and a demand forecast with no locations

What Reordering Policy are you using on the Item/SKU?  The "Include Inventory" only applies to the Lot-for-Lot policy.  If you are using "Order" it will ignore inventory and plan a 1:1 supply for any source of demand.

When using Forecasts, it is also important to have these to two toggles turned on within Manufacturing Setup:

Hopefully this gets you closer to using the Planning Worksheet.

The "Include Inventory" works only if the Reordering Policy is Lot-for-Lot.If you are using Order policy, it ignores inventory and plans full forecast. Also, make sure Use Forecast is enabled when running the Planning Worksheet, and check the Manufacturing Setup to include forecast consumption. If SKUs have locations, the forecast should match the location too.
