Configuring Polls on a community Portal

Posted on by 235

Good Day,

I need to add a Poll to a community portal page, however, after creating the Poll and the Poll Placement for some reason I cannot get the poll to render on any page. To be more specific, the client has asked for a Poll to be added to the Home page on their portal.

I have read a number of article and checked ADX Studio. non of these methods seems to work or even makes sense. i have also created a support ticket with Microsoft which has gone unanswered for the past 3 days.

Does anyone know how to configure the Poll and pick the location(Web page) to render to Poll?

Thank you in advance..

    Hi All

    I have managed to find the solution...

    Once you have setup a Poll In CRM under Portal Configuration (OOTB) the next thing to do is to insert a short piece of code ont he page template where you would like the Poll to Display.

    So for example, if you wanted a Poll on the Home Page of your Portal, then navigate to Portals >> Web Templates >> Home. Once the page opens you will see the code for the page.

    Insert the following code into the section or container you would like to display the Poll.

    {% include 'poll' poll_name:'Rate our service' %}

    All you will need to do is change the poll name to match the name of the poll you created in CRM as shown above in red.

    Once done, save your changes then refresh the Portal.
