Wave replenishment set up

I want to use wave replenishment to fill my production floor locations. I have set up the Production Order wave template to automate replenishment work as the basic instructions I've seen so far instruct me to do. They also tell me to add the "Replenish Method" to the wave template. Where and how do I do that?

    Hi,

I am not a production consultant. I think we could add "Replenish Method" for wave template type shipping only. not production.

Please read this TechNet. It describes what I want to do and explains the Replenish Method addition to the Production Wave option.  I just need some one to tell me how to add an existing method to an existing template type.  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn553177.aspx

    Hi Donald

If you study the link you gave carefully, it says 'For example, if you’re creating a wave template for shipping, you can add methods for replenishment and containerization.' I think this is Microsoft for 'you can only add replenishment to a wave template that is for shipping'.

I just tried it in an R3 CU11 environment and I cannot add replenishment (or containerization) to a Production wave template.

I think you are correct. After reading the paragraph a few more times I was able to come to the same conclusion. Still have an open issue with the client. My current thought is to release and hold production wave for work based on work pool selection. This would cover multiple periods of time. At appropriate timings release wave to generate the work and run pick list. Unfortunately I think we will have to mod the software to get a summarized pick list and summarized production pick menu pick option.

There is a replenishment method for production - it is called prodReplenish. If you don't see it, you should go to Warehouse management> Setup> Waves> Wave process methods and click Regenerate methods. This should make visible the prodReplenish method and after that you will be able to select it in your Wave template.

Note that the Wave process method prodReplenish was added to R3 by this hotfix, and is included in CU13 or later.
