A sandbox is a place where you can play and then rake sand and start again.

Sandbox environments are the same - they're intended for such things and you can easily restore them if needed. A dedicated VM with a snapshot is definitely a good solution.

Hi Martin, what you mean by Sandbox environment?? Virtual Machine for example?

In addition, as you are from Egypt, and there are many AX professionals in your country, there can also be another good option. Catch any experienced AX Developer of your country and get training in person, along with MSDN. Having training from an individual professional may be more effective than classroom training.

One thing you'll need in any case is to actually know how to program in Dynamics AX.

Maybe you can convince your company to send you to a proper developer course. It may be beneficial even in your current role - you'll be able to look into code during testing, write scripts for data analysis and so on.

If this is not possible, read a little bit about X++ (there is a huge amount of information on MSDN and you should also buy Inside Dynamics AX) and start looking into code. Also get a sandbox environment and start playing with the code (please don't do it in normal Dev or Test environments).

    Noureldeen,

There are a wealth of resources on the web for new AX Developers. You could certainly start with AX training manuals and exams from Microsoft. Other good resources include the "Inside Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012" book: www.amazon.com/.../073568510X
