Anyone have a line on a provider with expert level knowledge of doing typical supplier EDI (inbound customer sales orders, outbound customer invoices and outbound ASNs) in AX 2012 using the AIF ??  Have an urgent need.  Thanks

    Hi Paul,

I work for an AX partner and we've been using and recommending Data Masons to our clients. We've had several successful projects with them and they do in fact use AIF to integrate into AX.

    Hope that helps.

Do you have one successful project for the documents I outlined in my question and could you put me in contact with the client?

Pretty much all of our customers that have implemented EDI have used those documents (inbound order, out invoices, out ASNs, etc), and the last several years we've always used Data Masons.

As far as references go, I think it'll be quicker to contact Data Masons directly, as references from our end would have to go through our management/sales and that'll just hold up things. My contact at Data Masons is Jon Rivers ( jon.rivers@datamasons.com ) and he should be able to setup a reference call for you pretty quickly if you email him. Tell him I sent you :-)

Data Masons is the way to go. They probably handle every possible type of EDI document out there, atleast, that's been my experience with their product. AX AIf could support EDI but only if you use Biz talk. I've heard Microsoft developers talk about using AX 2012 AIF to support EDI files especially with it's ability to transform flat files. However, EDI files are a little different that tabbed or comma delimitted files, and it could easily get messy and take to long to implement. Also, AIF doesn't really do well queuing EDI documents etc. From experience, I'd say, pony up the money it takes to implement Data Masons or some other vendor's product, and go with it.

I have experience working with EDI in 2012 using AIF.
