"The total quantity for production BOM ###### could not be fulfilled"

We have a problem trying to create Works after releasing a Production order for a Finished good. The production order is required by a Sales order requirements explosion, and the Finished good has a BOM that includes raw materials and a sub-produced item.

Everything works fine, except for the message that says: "The total quantity for production BOM #### could not be fulfilled". The wave and work are succesfully created to perform the picking of the raw materials, but not for the sub-produced item, as if the work neither validated there was on-hand stock, nor tried to look for a location to pick.

What could be the problem?

Hi fgil12,

I think I had this issue when there was not enough on hand for the item. Did you check this ?
