I'm currently working in a project where we need to connect to a F&O app, we need to add new data entities to the environment.
We find out that the only way to do it is to connect to the environment vita Visual Studio.
We got problems in this point, some questions follow: 1. There is a specific Visual studio setting that needs to be configured? We are trying to install the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, but it seems to not work properly.
2. We can connect to an already created environment via visual studio in my working laptop? Or we need to open visual studio directly in the windows server?
I already answered that in your previous thread (How Can I connect my dynamics 365 finance and operation app to visual studio?). Let me repeat: You need to use a pre-installed development environment instead. The place where to start is LCS, where an environment is either deployed to Azure, or there is a virtual hard disk to download and set up a local
Hyper-V virtual machine.
Using your local machine is going to be possible in future and there is already a preview of that, but it's not yet ready.
Installing AX 2012 won't help you in any way, that's a completely different thing.
