Remove Department lock in MS Forecaster 7

Hello - I am trying to enter information into an input set for a particular department but it keeps coming up as ‘Read only’. I get ‘read only’ for ANY input set I use for this department, and I can use the input set in question with other departments. I have removed all user locks and have checked the workflow status for this department. I have run the recovery and validate database tools. I am still unable to enter information for this department.

Any ideas? Can I remove the lock via SQL?

    Hi Joe,

There are a few things that can cause a lock. Please check the following:

    1. See if there are two Input Sets with this same period. It is possible last year's input set has this same period and is open.

    2. See if the same period is in the same column set for this input set twice.

    3. Double-check workflow (as you mentioned).

    4. See if there is another input set that uses this period where workflow has been submitted.

    5. Check the segment setup (Setup | Segment | Dept) and see if the department is greyed out and set to inactive.

I've seen #4 be the problem a few times in the past.

After checking all these items again do the recovery and validate database tools. There is nothing in SQL to check as the application is locking it somehow.
