Over-ride quick create form when adding new contact from Subgrid

Posted on by 1,575

Hello,

I have a subgrid of contacts linked to an account but when I click on "+" to add a new contact from within this subgrid of contacts (on the ACCOUNT form), I am only offered the "quick create" contact form.

Is there a way of over-riding this behaviour and associating a different/custom form for adding a contact at this level?

Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

You are correct. This setting applied at Entity level and can not be configured to restrict to certain forms.

Thanks, good advice. The only issue is that it is the contact entity, - so, many other Users (accessing via different forms) need to use quick create.  I presume I can't restrict 'quick create' to certain forms - I presume it is disabled at entity level?

    Hi Seamus,

If so, you could uncheck the Allow quick create.

And then click the Form Order button to move your custom form up:

    Finally, publish your customizations.

By the way, make sure you select the form in the APP Design.

    Hi,

Have you tried disabling Allow quick create option ?

Thanks for your help - yes I want to show Custom Main form instead of Quick create form. I have tried unselecting all but 2 contact forms (including the quick create - it is NOT selected) but it is still defaulting to quick create. Note: The context may be key here - I am trying to create a contact from within a subgrid of associated contacts on the ACCOUNT form using the "+ New Contact" option.

Thanks for your help - that is an option but ideally I am trying not to use a quick create form at all - but instead use a "normal" custom form, however I am not getting the option of a form selecter, - it is just defaulting to quick create.

    Hi,

Do you want to show Custom Main form instead of Quick create form?

You can unselect quick create form from App designer and add your new custom form in App designer.

    Hi Seamus,

Do you mean you want to use your custom quick create form to replace the original quick create form?

If so, please follow the steps.

    1. Navigate to Contact entity and create a quick create form.

    2. Save and close it and click the Form Order button to move your new created form up.
