how to send mail from case form without going to email form.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

We are developing a solution to send emails from case form. With Current implementation  of default case form we have to go to the create email form to sen a email. The problem is most of the case content is not visibile. Is it possible to construct and send a email (by adding email create form in case form or other way) from case form.

Thanks

    Hi shivamG25,

I know that you want the quick from like phone call and tasks. While Email doesn't have the Quick Form and this Quick Form Type are by design which could not be customized. You could refer to the following Phone Call Entity Qucik Form screenshot:

    Hope the above would help.

    Hi Johnny

Thanks for replying to the question. Viewing the associated activities and then creating a email from new window seems a work around. But is it possible to add a quick create form like phone call or task for email as well in social controller.

    Hi shivamG25,

I also agree that it's no possible to replicate the email entity form inside case form. I think you would like to have an email quick create form just like quick create form of phone call activities. While there's still no available quick create form of email entity. But I think you could refer to the following step by step work-around details if your just want to write the mail and view the case details at the same time from your description.

    1. Click 'See the records associate with the view' under Activities Panel

    2. When you create a new email record , it would open a new web edge for the mail record.

Then you could write the mail and check the case info at the same time.

    For your reference.

    Hi,

If you are looking to replicate the email entity form inside case form then it is not possible. However with the use of some customization & workflow you can send email automatically on certain actions.

    Hope this helps.
