Hi all,

Does anyone help to advise how to change the set up for costing sheet?

In my case, there are some production orders already finished and the indirect cost in sub-nodes for these production orders is posted. When i tried to save/ validate the costing sheet, Error: "The node cannot have subnotes". The node type : Output unit based, And on the "Calculation" tab, AX mentioned "No basic can be configured for output unit based indirect cost".

Thank you so much,

    Hi Thu Ngo,

If the indirect costs in the subnodes created some postings, the costing sheet must have been verified and saved before, which implies that you plan to make some changes to your costing sheet.

Is that right; that is, have you modified something on your costing sheet?

What subnode do you want to create for your output unit based element?

Can you possibly share some screenprints that illustrate the issue in more detail?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

Yes, i think the costing sheet have been verified before.

I think the old cost group for this subnode is deleted by someone, so i tried to create the new one to replace, but it does not work.

I also change the structure of the costing sheet, but AX not allow me to do. The 1st error is "XXX based of type Output unit based is not found in the costing sheet, although it has one or more corresponding records in the "Indirect cost transaction"". the 2nd error when i close without saving is "The node cannot have subnodes".

And now the situation is i cannot save or validate the costing sheet, is there any way to overcome this case?

    Thank you so much,

    Hi Thu Ngo,

If you need to change the costing sheet then there is no shortcut available. You have to tweak the setup until you can save the costing sheet.

I am not sure what causes the error message that you receive. If you cannot remove the output unit based charge then you can probably leave it but set the charge price to $0.

If you try modifying the costing sheet in your test system the same way do you receive similar error messages?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

If my understanding is correct, you mean after the costing have been activated, and the transactions have been posted, there is no way to modify the costing sheet?

So what if the company actually change the costing sheet due to their operation?

    Thank you so much,

    Hi Thu Ngo,

No. That is not what I wanted to express. You can change the costing sheet anytime. However, such a change requires that all errors are removed, otherwise AX won't let you saving the costing sheet. There must be a small mistake in your setup and you probably have to tweak you current settings a bit so that you can save the changes that you made.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

Noted with thank you, so there wouldn't be an easy task for this case.

    Hi Thu Ngo,

You are right. Sometimes it might be cumbersome and take a while to identify the underlying problem. I also often overlook something 'little' with the costing sheet setup and then have to search for a while until I can finally save the changes that I want to have. Probably try to do it step-wise. That is, make a little change and then save it before you make the next little change. This makes it easier finding the thing you must have overlooked.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
