    Hi,

In general, AX 2009 has been deprecated already for many years. That means that Microsoft will not provide updates or security fixes anymore. Compatibility with Exchange 2019 is not tested by Microsoft. You can read about the system requirements and compatible software versions in the requirements guide. You can find a copy using the next link I found on the internet.

    Hi,
Compatibility between Dynamics AX 2009 and Exchange Server 2019 is subject to respective system requirements and interoperability. You can check out the link to AX2009 system requirements provided by Andre. In addition, you can also check the system requirements of exchange server 2019 in the link below. Often, older versions of software may not be fully compatible with newer versions of server software.

    Hi Hana & Andre,

    Thanks for your reply.

Our plan is to setup Exchange Server 2019 to host the AX approval flow mailbox. We are still using AX 2009, which is only compatible with the Office 2010 application. Earlier, we tried to upgrade the office application to 2016, but the Excel report exported from AX was causing issues, hence we had to downgrade the office application again to 2010.

We are configuring Exchange 2019 with the bare minimum prerequisites, especially to cater to the AX application. What I want to understand is that mailboxes will be hosted on Exchange 2019 and provisioned on the server where the Office 2010 application is installed. Will it work?

    Hi,

I don't know if it will work. As mentioned in my previous reply, Microsoft is not supporting it anymore, so whether the combination will work or not can be tested by your organization.
