Workforce Planning

Does Dynamics 365 HR has any features that can help an HR manager do workforce planning? Any new releases that you might have heard of from Microsoft that will be getting released in the future. So far I haven't read or saw anything that could be used for workforce planning. For instance, if i would like to generate hot spot reports based on specific criteria or generate a report for budget targeting etc.

Yes, Dynamics 365 HR offers several features that can assist an HR manager with workforce planning. The platform includes tools for managing employee data, tracking performance, and planning for future workforce needs. You can generate reports and analytics that provide insights into various aspects of your workforce, such as identifying skill gaps, analyzing turnover rates, and assessing employee engagement. While Dynamics 365 HR may not have specific features like "hot spot reports" or "budget targeting" reports out-of-the-box, it does offer robust reporting and analytics capabilities that can be customized to meet these needs.

Another great option for workforce planning is SmartWorkforce, which also offers comprehensive tools for managing employee data, performance tracking, and analytics. Both Dynamics 365 HR and SmartWorkforce provide flexible and customizable solutions to help HR managers effectively plan and optimize their workforce.

As for new releases, Microsoft frequently updates Dynamics 365 HR with new features and enhancements. Although there haven't been any specific announcements related to workforce planning tools in recent updates, Microsoft often rolls out improvements that enhance the platform's overall functionality. It's a good idea to keep an eye on Microsoft's release notes and announcements for any upcoming features that might meet your requirements.

Thank you for your question - at present, there are no plans that I see in the works for implementing workforce planning, either currently in process or long term, This may be something to consider for adding to the product suggestions through the ideas portal for D365HR for others to vote on, however: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas (and choose the Human Resources category).
