Submitting timesheets into closed period

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to submit a timesheet which contains entries in a closed period... in a similar way to how an expense report can be submitted and it will take the next open fiscal period:

mbs2.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

I'm pretty certain it can't be done with a timesheet, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Cheers,

    Hi Lally,

On Lifecycle services (LCS) you can create a project and then use Issue search to find issues and solutions. The hotfix can be downloaded then from here. You need to have a customersource or partnersource account to be able to use LCS. You can search for issues using the KB number.

    Hi Nick,

The date corrections option is new in CU7. I will download the hotfix provided by David and do some tests prior installing and after installing the fix.

See KB  2922713 - Transaction related dates are incorrectly set to the same date as the ledger dates after a timesheet posting to a closed period

Which release are of AX are you using?  The adjustment of Project dates has been addressed.  Only the ledger posting date is advanced.

    Thanks for the response Andre.

I've noticed that we can enable 'date corrections' in the timesheet parameters. This appears to allow you to post but will adjust the ProjTransDate to that of the next open period. All well and good, but for reporting and invoicing purposes, etc..  the date the time was actually worked is needed.

    Hi Nick,

I think it is possible to create, submit and approve the timesheet, but when the period is closed, you certainly get the error that you cannot post because of the closed period.

There is no user form where someone can update the posting date manually.

So within standard AX it is not possible.

In earlier versions of AX2012 and AX2009 the timesheets were transferred into hour journals. Then it was possible to have a project date in the past, posted on an actual date.
