E-Mails in Sent folder in Outlook not marked as tracked ? Bug?

Dear community,

some users noticed that e-mails sent through the CRM are (in their outlook sent folder) not marked with that blue bar that tells them, that the e-mail is successfully tracked. The e-mail is still visible in the CRM though. My question now - before I answer our users - is this a normal behaviour or might there be a bug? If you manually track mails out of the outlook sent folder, they get the marking. And all other tracked e-mails in the Inbox are also marked with that blue bar. For the users it is a helpful sign that their e-mail is sucessfully tracked and also through the app they can quickly access the record directly in the crm.

Thanks in advance for responses.

Best regards

    Hi partner,

Yes, it is by design, not a bug.

Emails in the Sent Items folder iof Outlook will not be automatically tracked.

Even if the email is sent from D365, it is not in the "Tracked To Dynamics 365" category.

    1. For email sent from D365, it will automatically appear in the Sent Items folder of Outlook. It does not have the "Tracked To Dynamics 365" category tag. Manual tracking it will add the "Tracked To Dynamics 365" category tag to it, but it has no other effect.
    2. For email sent from Outlook, it does not have the"Tracked To Dynamics 365" category tag. Manually tracking it will add the "Tracked To Dynamics 365" category tag to it, and a same email Activity record will be created in D365.
