Hi,
One user wants to access AOT in AX 2012. Please help me how to set security roles for him without granting him the administrator role.
Thanks
Thai

Hi Alberto,
Would it be possible to provide him access on the AOT in a separate environment where some information has been removed or obfuscated? Otherwise it is not possible. In general it is not recommended to grant access to the AOT in a production environment. Development should be done in a DEV instance. Then move the changes to the other environments.
If a user shoud e.g. run correction scipts, make sure these can be opened from a menu or specific form within Dynamics AX.
I need grant AOT access to a user but I don't want that he can see some important information in a specific module
What is the purpose of such role? It is not possible as the system administrator role is bypassing all security in Dynamics AX. Only the system administrator role is able to access the development environment.
you can assign him as the system administrator
Hi, I want to create a Admin Role with access to AOT but deny permmission to some options, this is impossible?
Hi Thai,
Probably you can also have an additional environment (demo/test) and grant system.admin right for this user in this environment. Eventually you can delete confidential data in this extra environment.
In that case - TechNet is the place to go. Here is, for example, a list of reports: technet.microsoft.com/.../hh334471.aspx
Thanks so much Andre & Goran. In fact I was asked from my boss to do for a user because he wants to figure out all modules in AX & all reports, etc.
You're probably want to give him/her view rights to the AOT, because you don't want to make him/her administrator. However this cannot be done. The AOT isn't meant for users to be in. The AOT stores the technical side (business logic) of your application and is meant to be accessed only by developers. If a user wants access to the AOT your only correct answer can be: What information are you missing in your normal views?
To my knowledge, that is not supported. A developer role equals system admin role combined with proper licence.
