Dynamics 365 add-in for Outlook - Search box

My D365 Outlook add-in search box (for Set Regarding) has stopped working recently (Jan.2019):

When I enter some text, the result box populates briefly, then empties, and I'm left with the message
"No records found. Create a new record."

Even when the search should give many results.

I can track successfully if the required 'Regarding' item is already shown in the panel before attempting a search.

If I just click the 'search' icon without typing anything in the search box, I get a (correct) list of all items of the selected entity, but if I then type anything in the search box (e.g. 'A'), the result list disappears, with "No records found", whatever type of entity is selected.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Check if the entity you want to search for is enabled. You can refer my blog to add an entity here - d365demystified.com/.../enable-entities-for-dynamics-365-app-for-outlook

Secondly, make sure the entity has Quick Find configured for the right columns and those columns are added in Dynamics 365 App For Outlook application (screenshots below in Model-driven app)

You'll need to make some insignificant change and publish the app again to refresh and try again.

    1. Open Model-driven apps in you default solution and open up Dynamics 365 App For Outlook

    2. Make any random change that you don't care for so that the Publish button can appear for you again to be clickable. I usually show/hide a form randomly that I don't care for.

And Publish your changes and restart the application. It should work fine.

    Hope this helps.

My problem is with the Dynamics 365 Add-In for Outlook (Office 365 ProPlus V1808 32-bit), not with the 'Dynamics 365 App for Outlook'.

Could you please let us know the Dynamics 365 server and Outlook COM add-in versions you are working with? Thanks!

I can't see how to get the COM add-in version, although I have tried re-adding it (and then re-started Outlook).

D365 is not included in the Outlook COM Add-ins list (Options - Add-ins...) which is a bit odd, unless it's the VBA Addin.

(But there are a couple of recent (today) dlls in the Office16 ADDINS folder: OUTLVBA.DLL, UmOutlookAddin.dll V16.0.10730.20030)

    The D365 Server is V1710 (9.1.0.1646) online.

    I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit, fully updated. Outlook V1808 (10730.20264) (Office 365 ProPlus Subscription)

Hi we have the Dynamics online version 9 (latest) and Dynamics App for Outlook, & are also experiencing this internally and with atleast two of our customers.

This only happened at some point between the 7th and 17th January this year.

    Any ideas / solutions?

I tried the amend & republish trick but that didn't do anything unfortunately.

    Cheers,

    Dana

The outlook is also not working in my system as well and this is happening after the update to the latest version. previously it was working fine but after the update, it is happening. The outlook is not supporting and it is getting lagged. It is also showing ERROR CODE 0XC0000428 on the interface and I am unable to do work.

Hi Rocky which update are you referring to? October update?  We had issues after that one but it was to do with the custom security roles.  Apparently they don't work with Dynamics App for Outlook.

We are having the same issue with many users too. i havent found the resolution yet but have found the same question being asked with possible answers which may help some of you.

I have found that if you get users to close their outlook and delete the cache from Internet Explorer and reopen outlook the set regarding works.

This doesn't resolve the problem with the Dynamics 365 Add-In, which is that typing anything into the 'Look for Records' search box causes the item selection list to de-populate, regardless of what set of items is displayed. Set Regarding works OK, as long as I find a way to select an item without typing into the search box.

This was not a problem before about Jan 2019.
