journal template when entering a site code it is picking up Sales Orders

On a NAV journal template I have to input the site code number as part of the journal entry. Using site code 0010 this returns an error. It is recognizing 0010 as the first four characters of a customer code and then defaults to a SO for that customer. Why SO’s should be in the Site Code field I do not know. My colleague does not have the same issue he can post the journal using that site code without an error being flagged.

    It sounds like the behavior you are seeing when entering site code "0010" on the journal template is unexpected and may be caused by a customization or a setting in your Dynamics NAV system. Here are some suggestions that may help you troubleshoot the issue:

    Check the field type and length of the Site Code field on the journal template. Make sure it is set to the appropriate type (e.g. Code) and length (e.g. 10) to match the site code you are trying to enter.

    Verify that the Site Code field is not mapped to any other fields or functions in the system that could be causing the unexpected behavior. For example, it is possible that the site code is being used as part of a lookup to find related records in another table.

    Check the settings of the Customer Card to ensure that the site code is not being used as part of the customer code or any other fields in the customer record.

    Review any customizations or modifications that may have been made to the journal template or related tables.

    Verify that you are using the correct version of Dynamics NAV and that it has all the latest updates and hotfixes applied.

    If none of these suggestions help to resolve the issue, I would recommend reaching out to a Dynamics NAV consultant or support team to further investigate the problem.

    Hi, I checked the Journal Templates page, and there is no "site code" field you mentioned. This should be a problem caused by customization, please contact your partner.

    It is a dimension field and seems there is some customization so you have to contact your developer/partner.

    The user in question has fed back that this works for every other user in finance but still doesn’t work for him. This therefore feels like a user issue or an issue with this one user set up/permissions.
