Hi,
The client wants to block 2 posting profiles of Customer.
How to do this in D365
You can go to customer card under General Tab > Select Privacy Blocked & under blocked drop down select All

If the posting profiles are set up with different main accounts, you might be able to suspend the main accounts; if they will not be used for any other posting. Like Ramit suggested, you can't block posting profiles.

The requirement of the client is that if the customer posting profile is X than the customer should be able to settle transctions only with the same posting profile and not different posting profile.
Example-The customer posting profile is A. While he goes to settle the transsactions the list shows the list on settle transactsions with posting profile for A, B, C. The user says the system should only validate with A as customer posting profile is A and not with B and C,
Any input from you experts would be appreciated.
Thanks for the clarification. So, it is not about deprecating old setup, but more a requirement for consistency. There is no feature to prevent this out of the box. You might consider a customization. Keep in mind that an user can mark invoices created with different posting profiles for a single payment in the standard application.

I haven't done this before, so also not sure where exactly to start. You can look at the standard coding and probably use the debugger to check where you can hook in.
