Dashboard - Search Box not Reflecting My View

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I have created a Dashboard using saved Advanced Find. The Advanced Find is set to look for inactive accounts with some other requirements. I have added a search box (Checked the box under Set Properties in Dashboard editing), and was thinking that if I type in a contact name it will pull all inactive positions according to the Advanced Find specifications. It does not do this? It pulls active information about the contact. Why does the Search Box not pull information according to the Advanced Find?

Quick Searchs utilize whatever criteria is set for the Quick Find view, not whatever view you're running the Search under.

For example; If I have a view displaying all Active Contacts in Illinois, and I type in a Contact name into the Quick Search bar, my results will NOT be restricted to Illinois.  It will be utilizing whatever criteria is set for the Quick Find view for Contacts.
