Hello fellow XRM'ers,
I have some question. I've created some App, which I've assigned to an user through its security role. The default app has been marked as "Hide for all roles", which supposely makes it only available for administrators. Unfortunately, when login through our regular URL, https://xxxxxxx.crm4.dynamics.com/main.aspx , the app thing is ignored and I land to the full sitemap just limited with my actual user role's privilege. I've doubled checked the user's roles and it has only one customized role.
Is this as expected or should it be considered as a bug? I think I am missing something very obvious here.
Thanks,
Jorge
Thanks Judy,
What I do need is to disable the default custom app for the user, so when he logs through xxxxxxx.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx lands on whatever app he has; Our default sitemap has a ton of areas / subareas that only add noise to the UX and I want to avoid editing the site's XML.
I understand that while custom apps can be completely disabled for certain roles, the only thing we can actually do with default "Custom" one is to partially hide it from the side menu? If so all users will have default access to it through above URL regardless of any role/app configuration, so that means I will end up editing the sitemap XML regardless of this Custom apps product feature
Regards,
Jorge.
Hi,
It seem that it is by design.
I have tested in my environment, and I hide my default App for all the roles using System administrator account.
Then a user with Sales person security role login to Dynamics CRM with the URL https://xxxxxxx.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx, the default App is not in the list of My Apps. But he could use Dynamics CRM with his privilege.
Which kind of function do you want to achieve? Maybe there is other method to achieve it.
Hope it makes sense.
BR,
Judy
