Weird InventTrans behavior.

Could anyone explain to me why is the single sales line for a quantity of 40 spread into multiple records in the inventtrans table? I just don't understand why AX splits this into multiple trans lines?

We recently reimplemented from 4.0, it wasn't like this in 4.0.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Could you give us a more detailed example and steps? Did you edit the line during the sales order proces?

    Kind regards,

Customer order product A, 40 units requesting shipping all on the same date.

Sales Order is entered for one sales line Qty 40, items are automatically reserved to QOH.

What I'm expecting to see in the Transactions screen is a one to one relation of order and item, but instead AX is splitting the quantity of 40 into multiple inventtrans records totaling at 40.

Possibly something to do with serial or batch tracking of your products?

Can't be, we're not doing either.

    Hi Drumcode,

Were the 40 that got reserved all in the same Warehouse/Location/Pallet/Licence plate/(whatever inventory dimensions you use)?

We use Site-Warehouse-Location dimension. The inventory was reserved to two different locations in the warehouse, but the total number of inventtrans records is 7.

I also thought it could be related to dimensions, but it is not from what I can see.

In Inventory management parameters, is 'Automatic addition' ticked? (It's on the General tab).

    Hi,

Check on the inventory and warehouse management parameters if you have under the Inventory Transactions --> Automatic addition checkmark turned on.

    best regards,

    Andrej

    Hi Drumcode,

What Guy and Andrej do mean is turning on this feature will solve this for future transactions.

For current transactions you can go to the Inventory transactions form. Select one line from the transactions that are split. Then choose Functions, Summation. When inventory dimensions, fysical and financial update values (date and voucher) are equal, AX will re-group the transactions.
