User is signing in CRM with a different user account

Hello,

When an user sign in CRM through internet explorer, the name displayed to the right of the screen is not your name, but that of another user.

For example, user Ashley Gill signs in CRM and her name is not shown, Thierry Lorthioir is the name shown that belongs to another different user:

Do you know why this happens?

    Hello Mónica,

    Essentially this info is retrieved from Office 365, based on cloud user or federated user (synced with local AD, for sample).

    My first suggestion would be to back on Office 365 Portal and confirm what is the username with your Full Name.

    If this info is correct, try to log-in using different browsers and in-private (incognito window), just to make sure any previous cached credentials is in place.

    Otherwise, the issue persists, raise a ticket with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Support team, so we can help you to validate internal info.

    How do you make sure that you logged in with different user? Its seems similar browser you logged in before with this user so its basically auto login with same user if I am not wrong. Did you tried to open in private mode  or clearing browser cache as suggested above ? You can also go to settings -> internet options->under security tab -> go to each custom level options -> under authentication you can choose prompt for user name password." ,set it and close the window. Open in private mode and  try to login again.

    Whenever you re-login do make sure that you clear all the history and cache of the browser. Also, before login you can verify if the username is correctly entered or not. You can try login through incognito mode also.

    Thanks for your help. One thing, users have never had to use the office 365 portal for CRM. They sign in CRM through URL: crm.gcport.getronicscore.com/CRM

    Today, the problem has happenned again. User Dominic Beasty signs in CRM and her name is not shown, Thierry Lorthioir is the name shown that belongs to another different user.

    Do you have any idea about problem?

    Do you know how I raise a ticket Microsoft Dynamics 365 Support?

    Hi Monica, this is happening because the users are not signing out properly.

    If you have admin rights, you can simply set the session expiration. From the system settings area or else the user will have to clear the cache each time.
