New look Dynamics

Hi folks

Does anyone know if the option to revert to the old look will be taken away any time soon?

Like others we've discovered a few glitches with the new look so won't be changing to it until we know how to sort them out.

Many thanks
Jan

Good morning, afternoon, or evening :) depending on your location!
    Hope you are well today.

Current Status of Reverting to the Old Look
Microsoft has provided a toggle option to revert to the old user interface during the rollout of the new look. This allows users to adapt to the updated experience at their own pace. However, this option is typically a temporary measure, and the timeline for its removal depends on Microsoft's rollout plans.

It is likely that the option to revert will eventually be removed as Microsoft standardizes the new Fluent Design experience across all Dynamics applications. In similar transitions, Microsoft has gradually phased out the old interface to ensure alignment with their long-term vision for the platform.

The exact timeline for removal is generally communicated in:
    • Release Notes: Look for updates in the release notes for upcoming Dynamics waves.
    • Admin Notifications: Administrators often receive advance notice about such changes in the Microsoft 365 Message Center.

Considerations for Adopting the New Look
    1. Addressing Glitches:
      • Microsoft's updates typically include fixes for reported glitches. Be sure to check the release notes for resolved issues.
      • Testing the new look in a sandbox environment can help identify specific problems before fully transitioning.
    2. User Adaptation:
      • Provide your team with training or documentation on the new interface to ease the transition.
      • Feedback to Microsoft is crucial—they actively refine the experience based on user input.
    3. Timing:
      • If the toggle option is still available, consider starting the transition sooner rather than later to familiarize your team with the new layout and functionality.

    Hope this helps!

No concrete news yet on when they will turn off the ability to disable the new look. If I had to guess, I would say you likely have until at least the Fall 2025 Wave 2 release before they force the new interface.

Be sure to check on the Wave release notes which should give you as much heads up as possible when the change is coming. In the meantime, be sure to evaluate any of your customizations with the new look so you can be ready when it happens.
