AX2012 Excel Export/Import thru Batch

Hi,

There is a requirement to Export/Import the AX 2012 table records thru batch process. I tried using the standard SysExcelApplication class but not successful.

But one option to create the custom dll file and use in batch class.

I think there should be an alternate way to achieve this, if you know please share it.

You are right, SysExcel does not work work in batch. If you have csv files, you can use TextIo class, otherwise you probably have to use .NET

This sounds like a job for the AIF!

You could also consider using the DIXF (Data import/export framework) if this is more of a system administration or data migration task.

what records you want to import or exprot with AX 2012.

If i use the Data import/export framework it requires the user interaction to perform the action.. right?

1. Actually user enters the information in Excel sheet (xls) and place it on shared folder, and AX batch should read the excel file and create the record in AX2012 table (custom table).

2. Same table records should be exported as Excel (xls) file thru batch.

Yes, you can achieve through DIXF, simply you have to create directory setup and trigger the batch with recurrence, it will read the directory file automatically and push the data in AX. For export, you can trigger one batch for export to file.
