Direct document upload options

Hello,

We are using Dynamics 365 and Azure File Directory for document storage. (We aren't/won't be using Sharepoint or Blob). I've received feedback from users that our current process of having to "add new note" and attaching the document there is not as user friendly as they would prefer.

Is there any way to have a direct upload experience that does not involve "add new note"?

Are you using the new interface in D365? If so, you can build a Canvas App to do this similar to https://www.itaintboring.com/dynamics-crm/using-a-canvas-app-with-dynamics-ce-to-upload-an-image/

I personally don't see this as different from uploading a note (same effort for the end user in my opinion).
