Network load of email integration with on premise Exchange and D365 CE in the cloud

Hi,

for reasons of estimating required network loads for leasing lines, a customer is asking us what the network load will be when we integrate an on premise Exchange with a D365 CE in the cloud.

Obviously the e-mails itself will cause load, but is there more to it that we need to take into account? Is the integration just sending over the email and everything else happens in D365 CE or is extra data added?
