Hi,

In D365FO, if we would like to change "Batch number" to "Lot #", what would be the best way to achieve this?

I can think of two options:

1. Develop an label file extension and update the labels for "Batch number"

2. Create a new label file and labels, change the UI object properties for all the related objects (Forms, Reports). 

I think the first option would be the one, just not sure if it is feasible.

    Label ID is the difference symbol of each Label.

    I looked at the sample to extend the standard system label file

    If there are two ISV extending the same system label files (e.g. SYS_extension) and modify the same label, how would the system determine which one it will show?

    Hi Yuji,

    Then you can open the Label Lookup dialog to search,

    Select the @Label you want to modify, right click Edit.

    Actually what I want is to find out which label (@sys#####) contains the text "Batch number", so that I can replace the text string on that label.

    Hi Yuji,

    Yes

    By extending the Label, you will maintain the same Label ID, so there is no need to change the ones already used in the system.

    Then you can set it to Lot# when you create a new one.
