Is there a way to see where the person you are chatting came from?  aka.  Paid Social, Organic Search, Paid Search?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi kbrandt

There doesn't seem to currently be any way of seeing how a user in a chat session has landed on the actual page, I'm afraid.

I haven't tested this, but here is my thought: (You are going to need a developer for this)

As you are hosting the website, you can find the referrer (the website the user is coming from).

And then use the Custom Context method to pass this additional data to the Omnichannel - docs.microsoft.com/.../send-context-starting-chat

Once this custom data is passed in, then you could display as part of the Customer Summary.

That doesn't quite answer the OP's question though (ie organic, paid, etc). All that would do would be to give you the website that they're coming from

    Hi,

My understanding is that the referrer link should have the details about the organic or paid by some means (usually a query string). For example, the google adwords would have the query string as far as I can remember to indicate if it is routed through the adwords.

But, if those details are not consistent or sufficient for the website to process in order to attach the custom context, then there is no way.

    Best,
    Dhina
