Business rule show error in the wrong field and unable to save the form

Hi , I have created the following business rule ,

Mobile Phone contains data

THEN

Set Email as Not Business Required

ELSE

Show the error message "Enter email" against field Email

How ever this is not working , when i try to save the form without email & mobile , then error pops up in email . When i enter email value , then the error pops up in name feilds and what ever you do , it doesnt allow to save the form and the error in the name field remains .

Hi Imthi,

Your requirement is that at least one field in Email and Mobile Phone contains value, right?

If so, please set business rule as follow.

IF

Mobile Phone contains data

THEN

Set Email as Not Business Required

ELSE IF

Email does not contain data

THEN

Show the error message "Enter email" against field Email

Hi Lu Hao . Thank you but again the red X mark comes back to name field , unable to save the form. is this because the name field is mandatory. thank you for your help

Hi Imthi,

I tested but did not see the name red X mark.

Could you try it in the Sales Hub? Will you encounter this problem in the unified interface?

In addition, because your business rule does not have a condition that Email fields contains value, even if there is no error message of the name field, you will still be unable to save the record because of the error message of the email field.

So please try the business rule in my previous answer.

Finally I tried this logic since my Mobile phone field is set business required .

IF

Mobile Phone does not contain data

THEN

Set Email Address 2 as Business Required

Set Mobile Phone as Not Business Required

ELSE IF

Email Address 2 does not contain data

THEN

Show the error message "Please Enter Email" against field Email Address 2

Name feild error was dissolved when i removed the linkedin sales navigator from the form .

Ideally in this scenario create another business rules like "when mobile does not contain data " then make email business required.

And also make sure in every BR, you need to have else part which means if you want to do a field required when if condition matches ,then dont forget to make the same field not business required in the else block. I thik this is the problem happening for the name field. So check the BR associated with Name field.
