Adding Images with a Hyperlink to email signatures

Hi,

I know there have already been lots of posts reg. that issue, but has probably anybody managed to create email signatures in MS Dynamics CRM 2016 (SP1) containing an image with a Hyperlink?

I just found the way to upload an image to a Website, right click on it, click on copy and then inserting it to the email signature template.

But this only results in an image added to the signature. It is not possible to define a link behind this image, which would leed the email recipient to a certain Website.

Any proposals how to achieve that?

thx Thomas

I did similar changes a long time ago in 4.0 times but I believe it's still valid now:

    1. Prepare separated solution with template with already inserted image url.

    2. Export solution from CRM.

    3. Unpack and open file that contains email template.

    4. Find place with image.

    5. Insert url (but don't forget to Xml-escape that url).

    6. Put file back to solution.

    7. Import and publish solution.

That should work fine (at least this approach worked fine 8 years ago :) ).

    Thomas:

I'm curious about this:  "upload an image to a Website, right click on it, click on copy and then inserting it to the email signature template" - am I to copy the URL itself and then paste it in to the appropriate place on the signature?

    Hi Rob,

I mean really copy the image and insert it in the signature, like described here:

    Hi Andrii,

thx once again for your Feedback.

Actually my question was regarding email signatures and not email templates.

But since I didn't manage to Export email signatures with a solution, I went for the email template Approach and it works.

I created an email template with a variable field, to always Display the Name of the employee sending the mail. Added an Image. Exported the template in a solution. Added the Hyperlink to the Image in the XML. Reimported.

    Works like charm.

thx a lot, you really helped me

    Thomas,

I'm sorry - I missed line where you mentioned that you wanted to make it work for signatures. But anyway I have idea for signature as well :) Here are steps:

    1. Open Configuration Migration utility and connect it to your CRM environment.

    2. Choose "Email Signature" entity for export, choose Body and Presentation Xml fields for export.

    3. Export data and open exported file with signatures.

    4. Make changes that you've already mastered with templates.

    5. Import updated signatures file to CRM using Configuration Migration Utility.
