I need help in security roles. I want to give only READ access to user for some entities. So, I created a role for that. but after assigning it to user, my model driven disappears. then i tried it by copy the system customizer role and customized the copy role but same thing happened. Is there any way to deal with it. Please help.
In order to view the Model driven apps in the CRM, we need to assign privileges for each of the users.
Let’s create a Custom security role by copying the Out-Of-the-Box security role. Let's choose the "Salesperson" role in this example, as shown in the screenshot below.
For instance, if we need to assign the READ privilege to the Account entity. To do so, we have to open the custom security role, which we created by copying the “Salesperson” role and edit the privilege as shown in the below screenshot:
Let’s assign the below security roles to the user now: (Reference screenshot below)
Salesperson copy security role - By assigning this role, the user will only be able to READ the Account records in the CRM.
Sales Enterprise app access security role - By assigning this role, the user will get access to the model driven apps and he will be able to view the same in the CRM.
Further, let’s login to the CRM as a user and open any Account record, to see the difference. Based on the screenshot below, the user has only READ privileges and cannot edit the record. As a result, when the user opens the Account record, the form opens in Read-Only mode.
Similarly, you can also assign READ only privileges for entities in the security role as per your business requirement.
Hope this answers your query.
Thanks!
