Hi there,

I am interested in exploring the management of rental assets within Business Central. Specifically, I would like to discuss the rental process for a business that offers a product, such as a tent, for rent on a day rate for a period ranging from one week to twelve months.

The rental package for this product consists of several items, including pegs, a ground sheet, lights, a tent canopy, poles, mattresses, sleeping bags, and more. These items must be picked to create the tent rental package, and the company offers tents in various sizes.

I would like to discuss the best way to manage this rental process in Business Central, including checking out and checking in items, managing rental stock, charging for rentals on a monthly basis, and tracking the usage of particular items. For example, how many times has a mattress been rented out, to which rental or job, and at which locations?

Any advice or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Managing Rental Assets

While Business Central can handle some of the functionality you're looking for out of the box, for rentals its better to look at an add-on that enhances the out of the box functionality.

Some of the requirements you mentioned would be pretty easy to accommodate with a reporting tool such as Power BI.
