I created a simple Word template in CRM, exported and edited in Word, then reimported to CRM to generate a simple "report on demand" from a record of the appropriate type. Once I defined the currency (US$) on all related records (one tricky detail), the Word template export/download function works fine.
I can "merge" the values of interest from the individual data record as text on the Word template using XML mapping, no problem. But when I try to generate a QR code or barcode using those same XML fields (pasted as plain text) and DISPLAYBARCODE or MERGEBARCODE, it only codes the CRM data field name, not the "merge" value from the individual data record.
Here is the "simulated" code (curly brackets are fake here, duh):
natef_schoolname
{DISPLAYBARCODE natef_schoolname QR \q 3 \s 200}
{DISPLAYBARCODE address1_stateorprovince CODE128 \s 150 \t}
address1_stateorprovince
And here is what I get in the output. I wanted the QR code to decode to "A.K. Smith Area Career Center", but it decodes to "natef_schoolname" instead. Same problem with the barcode below that - I wanted "IN", but I got "address1_stateorprovince". I tried messing with the syntax five ways from Sunday. No soap.
Can this be made to work with native tools in CRM (no add-ons; I'm not the developer)? HELP!
But you can use this way:
It is product limitation. As it is clearly mentioned not to make any changes to the content control other than making it bold or so.
Hi!
We are facing the same problem.
Have you managed to find a solution?
Thanks
