Security Policy Permission denied

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello All,

We're currently running AX 2012 R3 and have been experiencing an issue with creating case cetegories. it's located under OA/ Setup / Cases / Case categories.

When we try creating new, we get this error:

"Cannot create a record in Case Category (CaseCategoryHierachyDetail). Security policy permission denied."

We added the proper role "Collections Manager", clear the cache, restarted the client session, but still get the error. Any ideas to help get this resolved?

thank you,

    Hi Sohaib,

No we don't have any customized security policies. However, I noticed in AOT/ Security/ Policies /CaseCategoryTypeRestrict

This policiy is enabled for "All Operations". I don't want to disable it as I'm not sure what else it affects.

    thanks,

allow me to add one more point here, which seems doubtful.

in standard system, there  is security policy for Case Category Types.

any user having role of "Information Technology Manager" can give or revoke access to certain user roles for Case Categories.

I suspect normal users have not been assigned any privilege to use case categories

have a look at next TechNet article to know how you can setup this security

do you have any customized security policies enabled?

if you are not technical guy, you can get the answer for this question form your IT personnel or from your Implementation partner.
